This is the brief background on how the Cane Corso became a well-liked breed. There are many things that we can say about the Cane Corso.  Some of the examples are athletic, agile, muscular, and powerful.  The weight of the dogs varies between the sexes, in which the males typically will weigh between 135-160 lbs.  It is noted that the combination of speed, agility, and endurance is the reason that the breed is well-liked.  This is a rare breed that was originally from Italy.  While in Italy, they were a stable worker for the rural farmers and other townspeople.  They were also bred to be used in big game hunting.  The King Size K-9 Cane Corso is one of two breeds (the other is the Neapolitan, or the Italian Mastiff) that stem directly from the giant molossus, war-dog of ancient Rome.  Today, the Cane Corso is still bred to be an effective protector of home and family.
